This New $2.49 ALDI Find Is a Perfect Crate & Barrel Dupe

As somebody who has a strong opinion about ice and drinks, it comes with the territory that I’m also really drawn to nice-looking glassware. The way it looks, feels, and holds the drink (and its components) to give the right drinking experience is important to me.

Instead of buying every set I fell in love with, I started going to thrift stores to find interesting and affordable pieces to add to my collection. I can’t own them all, unfortunately. But when I first laid eyes on the stunning set of stackable highball glasses at ALDI, I knew immediately that they were coming home with me.

Why I Love ALDI’s Stackable Highball Glasses

At just $9.99 for a set of four glasses, ALDI’s Crofton brand glasses are a budget-friendly dupe of Crate & Barrel’s Atwell glass, priced at $6.95 (currently on sale for $5.56 apiece, as of August 22, 2024). That’s less than $2.50 per glass at ALDI! To put that into perspective, three sets of the ALDI glasses (12 glasses total) is about the same price as four individual glasses from Crate & Barrel.

The price isn’t the only reason I was smitten. Like Crate & Barrel, ALDI’s glasses come in a variety of colors: clear, amber, and red. The clear set is great for everyday use, and the amber (my favorite) and red shades are gorgeous for fall and holiday gatherings. Like Atwell, the Crofton highball glasses have a sleek ribbed design that gives them a sophisticated, vintage-inspired look.

Beyond aesthetic appeal, the generous 16-ounce capacity makes them ideal for all kinds of drinks. One of the standout features for me is their stackability. If you’re working with limited cabinet space (who isn’t?), the ability to stack them is especially helpful. They nestle together neatly, freeing up valuable room for your other kitchen essentials. And unlike the Crate & Barrel glasses, which are hand-wash only, the ALDI glasses are dishwasher safe.

Why I Love Having Nice Glassware

One of life’s simple pleasures is sipping a good drink from a beautiful glass.
