This $1.25 Dollar Tree Find Is a Copycat of a $25 Crate & Barrel Product

One of my beige flags is that I get excited about a good kitchen tool and even more excited about a great bargain! While browsing Dollar Tree for some birthday party supplies, I wandered down the kitchen supplies aisle (and, if I’m being honest, the pantry aisle, office supplies aisle, cleaning supplies aisle, and the beauty aisle, too!).

I discovered a lot of great finds, but one of my favorite kitchen items was the Cooking Concepts brand bamboo utensils. They look and feel high-end, durable, and, dare I say it, expensive. However, this was Dollar Tree. So, for five quarters, these bamboo cooking utensils with their soft grip handles give high-end cookware stores a run for their money. I picked up three!

Why I Love Dollar Tree’s Bamboo Utensils

First, the sheer value of these utensils is unmatched. For $1.25 apiece, you can stock up on a variety of tools, including slotted forks, spoons, and turners. Compare that to Crate & Barrel’s five-piece set, which rings in at $24.95 plus tax.

With that 300 percent price increase, I could buy nearly 20 tools from Dollar Tree. And the Dollar Tree finds are also comparably eco-friendly, non-scratch, made from high-quality natural bamboo, and look sleek and modern in any kitchen.

While they may not be hand-burnished like their pricier counterparts, they’re just as functional. Plus, they come with the added comfort of soft-grip handles—a significant advantage in my books.

How I Use My New Dollar Tree Bamboo Utensils

Whether I’m making a roux for mac and cheese or flipping a delicate omelet, these tools are up to the task. I also use them for non-cooking jobs, like serving salads and mixing batters. The silicone grips are a nice touch, especially during those tougher “arm workout” jobs and longer cooking sessions.

And the tools are surprisingly durable. After a couple of months of use, there’s no warping or splintering. Neither set is dishwasher safe (because bamboo), but they’re easy to clean by hand. At the end of the day, any wooden or bamboo kitchen tool needs to be replaced or upgraded eventually, and this price point makes them feel more than worth their price.
